THE STORY
As the nation’s capital, District City has become an even more popular place to live. Over the last few years, the cost of living has skyrocketed, along with the level of diversity among residents. And just like the saying goes, more money more problems… DC is definitely seeing its fair share.
To solve those evils, the Urban 30 was created.
Initially, the team operated along with city officials. But after each threat, it becomes harder to determine who to trust. Between alien invasions and corrupt governments, the Urban 30 had to separate itself from the mainstream. Now, they operate as undercover agents for change.
Under the direction of their leader, Dispatch (a mystery man who has a propensity for knowing everything at all times), members are asked to navigate difficult tasks in order to affect a positive outcome.
Each hero has their own life and their own set of rules. And what it boils down to… these aren’t your Dad’s batch of heroes. The expression to protect and serve doesn’t have the same meaning. The heroes of the Urban 30 have serious problems. From family to relationships to just not following orders, the team struggles with themselves and each other.
Be it a power-stealing Egyptian or a lizard alien species threatening to take over the world… or that Robot Race that wants to wipe out humanity… whatever the threat, the Urban 30 will find a way.
THE BLOG
The Urban 30 blog is an interesting spin in the world of blog fiction. It combines serial storytelling with comic book style characters. The goal is to reactivate imagination. Online, readers want short and easy to read excerpts. The Urban 30 blog provides just that, to the theme of super heroes.
The Urban 30 blog is an exciting opportunity for writers to create exceptional super hero stories, within the subset of one team. Because each writer has control over only one character, they must collaborate when involving other characters in their storylines. This makes crossover events more exciting since the actions of another are never guaranteed.
Our talented team of writers is based in the U.S., Canada and England. The highest concentration, of course, is right here in Washington, D.C.
